RESTORATION or REBUILT

I started a frame up when I got the Corvette in 2005. I am still making modification and maintenance. I enjoy the maintenance projects. Most of the work is done by myself. The most important factor is quality of the completed project. Doing a good job and not rushing make enjoyable.

The most difficult was installing rack & pinon power steering. The power operating folding top was a very enjoyable., Making an indiactor light system and watching work was fabilous. I have been working on cars for more then 60 years and project are getting harder. It's time drive & show more now.

APPRAISAL

I have been offered $45,000 for my Corvette and it appresial for $65,000.

MAINTENANCE

Any classic car requires maintenacne. I am lucky in that I enjoy workinh on my vette. The 1961 is a lot easer to work on then my C6. Simple wiring and not too many accessories.

The NCRS, Solid Axle Corvette Club and local club is a wealth of information.

First and formost my Corvette is not a matching number car. I do have a collection of orginal parts. The new and used parts used in rebuilding are rebuilt, reproduction and NOS. The exterior has the correct Ermine white (510A) paint and trim. The interior has some modifications. A 10" steering wheel & hurst shifter make easer enterance.. A close look at the gauges will show an Voltmeter in place of orginal amp meter, A vacuume gauge iis n place of clock. The big modfication is the power steering with rack and pinion and disk brakes. The operation power folding top is an orginal option (473). Most NCRS members or C1 owners would easly notice these mods. As an NCRS member myself and been able judge a few C1, I used my knowledge to make this Corvette suited to my needs. My Corvette enjoyment come from working on it, driving it and showing. A refered to it as a Driver-Show.
